Academics

The academic programs at FIT are unique. The college focuses on a hands-on education for its students; FIT considers them to be “pre-professionals.” The courses taught here offer real-life assignments. Diversity

Students studying here have the opportunity to meet people of all different races, religions, and backgrounds. Although the majority of FIT students are girls, they come from everywhere around the world. You can meet classmates from China, Russia, France, and many other countries. You will notice that there are a lot of programs and events organized on campus to get these students to meet others.

Not only will you experience diversity at FIT, but no city on Earth can match New York’s rich ethnic diversity....

Guys & Girls

FIT’s population of girls can be overwhelming at times. You will notice that in certain classes, there are only two guys, and one is most likely gay, while the other is straight. This means that the one straight guy likely has over 25 potential girls to hook up with! In fact, men that work in Manhattan sit near campus to eat lunch, hoping to meet a girl. You will see groups of guys in business suits talking to any FIT girl that gives them a chance.

Athletics

A majority of students here have no clue about the sports offered at FIT. Athletics are not a priority here. Ask a student if they are going to the basketball game, and they will look at you dumbfounded, maybe even thinking you are talking about the Knicks (who play their home games at Madison Square Garden, only seven blocks from FIT). It also may not help that there are mostly women here, since men tend to be more fanatic about sports.
