Picking a school is a tough decision and nobody expects you to have your whole life charted out upon high school graduation. Fortunately, Slippery Rock can help you find yourself by exposing you to a laundry list of opportunities and organizations. Sure, students gripe about Weisenfluh food, the miserable weather, and the Ticket Nazi, but SRU students are in it together. At SRU, you are not treated as a number, but, in many cases, as a family member. Most students here agree that the people are what make this place. You will not only make lifelong friendships and connections with fellow students, but with professors and local townspeople as well. It is highly difficult to find a school where professors sincerely care about you, not just about their research and side projects.

In recent years, Slippery Rock has been trying to overcome the party school stigma that has overshadowed its sophisticated academic programs. Known for many programs including education, physical therapy, and parks and recreational management, Slippery Rock offers high quality at a low price. Remember that a well-rounded education does not have to translate into millions of dollars in student debt. It is highly recommended that before you commit yourself to any school, visit the campus and see if it feels right. Though some schools look terrific on paper, you may be disappointed upon arrival. Slippery Rock offers something for everyone, and it’s highly recommended that you get involved and make the most of your time here. At Slippery Rock, we play hard, we work hard, and most agree that they would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Go Rock!
