Most teachers at SLU are incredible, because they really care about you as a person.

SLU gets largely positive reviews from students, and few have complaints about the academics or the campus itself. It’s certainly safe to say that no one attends for the cheap tuition, so the size of the student body speaks for itself. Above all else, however, it’s important to understand that you get out what you put in at SLU. Of course, this can be said for any college, but given the large commuter population at St. Louis, it’s especially applicable here. The worst feelings toward the University tend to come from students who haven’t been involved with much during their time on campus; ironically, these are the students who complain about the lack of things to do. SLU is definitely a university that needs to be experienced through its many clubs, service opportunities, and extracurricular programs.
If you do choose to attend SLU, take some time to find your way around the campus and meet as many people as possible. It’s also a good idea to explore the city itself, though this can be a lot more interesting with a group of friends. School and city alike offer a wealth of things to become involved with, or just ways to kill time; these can be as important to college life as any classroom.

"While we don’t have absolutely everything that a Big 10 school has to offer, you certainly won’t get lost in the crowd."

"I love SLU. I can’t think of anywhere else I would rather be, except maybe Notre Dame—but that is another story. It’s a really great campus, and I really think you should consider it."

"I know people who hate the school, and I know people who love it. I would not go anywhere else. I’m one of those who love it! I think it is an awesome school, and it is beautiful. It also is a good education. So, I hope no matter where you go, you feel the same way."

"My biggest problem is that I should have gone out-of-state rather than staying so close to home. Otherwise, I’m satisfied with the school. I just missed out on the away-from-home experience that’s supposed to be a part of college life."

"It has been okay. I work a lot, so I don’t do a whole lot on campus. No, I don’t wish I were somewhere else. I do wish the school wasn’t so expensive so that I didn’t have to work so much."
