Susquehanna is an amazing place to go to school. While some people see it as their worst nightmare, for those who want a small liberal arts school, there aren’t many better places to go than SU. The academics are impressive, the faculty is caring, and the atmosphere created by the students is amazing. A good motto for SU students is “work hard, play hard.” Everyone is here to succeed, but having fun never hurt anyone. While there are always a couple of students who forsake the work part, the majority of campus has its priorities straight. It’s easy to strike a balance between work and a social life.
While there are shortcomings on the SU campus, they pale in comparison to the positives. There are a lot of catch22s. Campus security is really strict, but at the same time, the campus is incredibly safe. Professors live close so there are rarely snow days, yet they care deeply about their students and open up their homes to them. As already mentioned, if you are looking for a city atmosphere or a large campus, then SU would not be your ideal spot. However, if you want a smaller school, or better yet, have no idea what you want in a school, then Susquehanna really is the place to be. You can’t get lost in the shuffle on this campus; there will always be someone looking out for you, be it professor, roommate, or peer.
Picking a college is a huge decision. While some students may always wonder whether they picked the right place, SU students quickly realize that they made the best choice. The combination of the academics, the social life, and the caring faculty provide constant indicators as to why SU students made the right decision.

"I love my school. It is the best choice I could have made. It has the right number of people, and you can know everyone or know only a few people. I couldn’t ask for better friends than what I have made here."

"I’ve loved my time at Susquehanna, but I also remember how it used to be before it got strict. I wouldn’t change anything; I love my friends and the memories—but if I were applying to colleges now, I don’t think I’d go here. The feeling I got when I walked on this campus three years ago is not the feeling that the campus gives off now."

"Susquehanna is great—I cannot complain. I simply love it: the small size, the nice people, and the great teachers."

"I wish Greek life had more of a presence on campus, and I wish there was a larger party scene. This, however, has made many people change schools. I think that the academics are very strong, and the people are great. I enjoy hanging around with my friends on weekends, and the campus is very safe. There is plenty of stuff to do. However, if I were not willing to go out and find my own fun, I wouldn’t like Susquehanna. I feel comfortable at SU, and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else."

"Overall, I love SU. At first, I used to wish that I had gone to a bigger school because I was so scared of meeting people, but once I started, I was happy that I had stayed. SU has a lot to offer, and the classes are, for the most part, really fun and interesting. The professors go out of their way to help you, and everyone is friendly, holding doors open and saying ‘hi.’ It’s not unusual to walk around campus and say, ‘Hi, how are you?’ if you see someone you just know by face. I wouldn’t trade my experience at SU for anything. A lot of alumni realize how much they miss SU once they’ve left and wish that they could come back. You are always busy at SU, but it’s good because a lot of times it’s with classes, sports, clubs, work, and friends. I am so glad that I chose SU, and I wouldn’t give up this experience for anything."
